Juries are selected for each category. Jury members are registered indsutry voters with an expertise in comedy. Jury members must sign a confidentiality agreement, and cast their rankings independently.
They each rank their top five, 1 being the best. Each #1 vote counts for five points, #2 for four points, #3 for three points, #4 for two points and #5 for one point. The submissions with the most points become the nominations in the respective category.
Jurors are not be eligible to assess categories to which they have submitted or to which a spouse or business partner has submitted.
In order to create the most fully representative juries, director categories must have at least one member of the DGC; for writing, at least one WGC member; and one ACTRA member for acting categories.
The Jury results represent 30% of the final vote in all industry-only voting categories. In all public categories, the jury results are used only to determine the nominees.
